Stair Climbing - March 9, 2002

Competitors Present: Joe, Jona, Josh

Spectators Present: Elizabeth, Greg, Rob, Scott, Sierre

After a round or two of voting, we decided to do the stair climbing challenge as our next event. After I had completed the rules, and sent out the challenge, it was up to me to get a stair case built for us to compete on. As it turns out, I know someone who was eager to help me with it. As a matter of fact, he ended up building the staircase all by himself. Thanks for the stairs Dick.

Well, having the advantage of having the stair case in my house, I wanted to make the competition as fair as possible, so I scheduled two different open houses so the other challengers could have time to test their bots out on the stairs.

The day of the event came and things went off without a hitch (more or less). Josh had to recalibrate his timing inside of his program, and Joe had to figure out what was causing his bot to stop the ascent halfway through a stair.
